Community gathers to help family injured in 'violent home invasion'

LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Dozens gathered Saturday night to support a Leelanau County family after a violent home invasion left three men injured.

Frank Rosinski and sons Brian and Richard were injured during the breakin on January 10.

Saturday night, a benefit spaghetti dinner was held at the Solon Township Hall in Cedar and the proceeds went to help the Rosniskis with medical expenses.

Those who attended and volunteered said they were happy to be part of the event.

"Today is important because it shows that we support our own," said Rita Wilson, who attended the event. "We support those around us and we're there for them and that's what we want to be and we want them to know we love them and we care."

Volunteer Tom Petersen said, "It is a chance for us as a community and as individuals to help somebody who has a severe need and they have a need."

Anyone wishing to make a donation can send a check to Frank Rosinski and mail it to P.O. Box 344 Cedar, Michigan 49621.
