GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Bells rang Monday evening in Traverse City to show support for Munson Healthcare workers.
Since Friday evening, cars have been lining North Elmwood Avenue by Munson in Traverse City to take part in the Healthcare Heroes Parade.
Everybody stays in their car and rings bells as health workers come and go.
Some people put signs outside their cars and other people put their flashers on.
It was started by a doctor at Munson and a woman who works at Munson Healthcare.
"It's important to show up and say thank you,β said Erin Lord who helped start the parade. βIt's scary for everybody so I think just showing up in your cars and ringing some bells and showing some signs is really just a small gratitude from our community.β
If you want to take part, it starts at 6:30 every evening and goes till 7:45.
Organizers said they planned it around shift change to cheer on healthcare workers from both day and night shifts.
