Dennos Museum executive director announces retirement
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The executive director of the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College has announced his retirement.
Eugene Jenneman was hired by NMC in 1988 to help finalize the design and construction of the Dennos Museum.
Since opening to the public in 1991, Jenneman has been the executive director.
"This is a dream come true for any museum director," said Jenneman. "Most museum directors would love the opportunity to be invited to come and work on the final building and bring it into existence and then be able to operate your own museum if you will in a sense and so that's a tremendous privilege."
The Dennos is scheduled to open a gallery named after Jenneman in early May.
Jenneman is expected to retired sometime late spring.
Plans for the replacement will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
