Deputies find suspect in GT County Republican headquarters bomb threat
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Deputies have found the suspect involved in Wednesday's threat at the Traverse City Republican headquarters.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Deputies said once they've finished talking to the man the report will be sent to the prosecutor's office for follow up.
Witnesses told deputies a man came into the headquarters at the Cherryland Center Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. and threatened to blow the place up.
Employees said the suspect had a sign that said "Trump is Satan" and started going off on a rant about Republicans.
When he was asked to leave, employees said he made a statement about blowing the place up and took off.
Investigators brought in a bomb sniffing dog as a precautionary measure and deemed the office safe just before 5:00 p.m.
Sheriff's deputies increased patrols near the office for most of the day Thursday.
