Detroit man arrested for Alpena County break-ins
ALPENA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A man was arrested in Alpena County on home invasion charges.
On Friday, the Alpena County Sheriff's Office got a call about smoke coming from a chimney of a summer home in the 10000 block of Lake Street in Sanborn Township.
The house is not being lived in right now and deputies said when they arrived it was clear someone had gotten inside and lit a fire in the fireplace.
Saturday, deputies returned to the home to search the area in the daylight.
Footprints were found in the snow, according to deputies and they led to a home in the 2700 block of Beebe Boulevard.
According to deputies, the second home had been burglarized and a lot of property taken.
Deputies then said they found the name of a potential suspect.
Sunday deputies arrested a 21-year-old Detroit man in connection with the break-ins.
He was arrested on charges of home invasion and receiving and concealing stolen property.
All the stolen items were found and returned.
