Don we now our ugly Christmas sweaters

The morning show team is showing off ugly Christmas sweaters brought in by Baabaazuzu.

Ugly Christmas sweater parties are a growing trend worldwide. There are even stores that specialize in hunting down those gaudy treasures and selling them in one, easy location for shoppers. Many people scour the racks at thrift stores this time of year for the snowmen, christmas tree, and reindeer-laden cardigans and turtlenecks.

One northern Michigan company handles a large amount of these sweaters, but you'd never know it by the garments they sell in the store. Baabaazuzu, based in Lake Leelanau, is a company that repurposes clothing, or what they call upscaling the items. Trucks ship Baabaazuzu loads of wool sweaters. The store then uses bits and pieces to create handcrafted vintage items.

If you need an ugly sweater for a party, they may let you borrow one if you ask nicely!

The morning crew talked with Hillary Voight to learn more about what Baabaazuzu has to offer. Check it out!
