Donations being accepted after house fire
KALKASKA COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- Donations are being accepted for a Fife Lake Springfield Township firefighter and his family after after they lost their home early Wednesday morning in a fire.
Fire Chief Scott Tinker says they've received several emails and messages from people, asking how they can help.
There were three adults in the home at the time of the fire, including one woman, two men, and a two-year-old boy.
The family is in need of clothing, shoes, and boots.
Chief Tinker says they could also use some toys and diapers for the two-year-old child.
"It's one of those things that we go out and put fires other people's homes when it comes to and the community. When it comes to one of your own your own members. It's a little bit different events that happens from all the firefighters in that process trying to get help for the members that need help, it's just been an ongoing situation," said Tinker.
Donations can be dropped off between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to fire department at 134 Morgan Street in Fife Lake.
