MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Manistee County destination is reopening to the public after a fire destroyed it a year ago.
The Dublin General Store caught fire on August 31.
Shortly after the fire, a t-shirt fundraiser was started to help raise money for the fire departments that helped contain the fire over Labor Day weekend.
On Wednesday, the store will have its grand reopening.
The general store has been family-owned for three generations.
The Fischer family started planning to rebuild just days after the fire.
According to the Dublin General Store, the new 43,000 square foot store will be open seven days a week.
When UpNorthLive caught up with the owners in March, they told us they had payroll insurance and all 40 of their employees planned on coming back once the store reopened.
The Fischer family said the rebuild includes a pharmacy, which won't be open until a later date due to the pharmacist working on getting some licensing.
At this time, the fire is believed to be arson and no arrests have been made.
The owners said the new store will be equipped with security cameras.
