Funeral arrangements announced for family lost in Beaverton house fire
GLADWIN COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The funeral arrangements for a mother and two children that died in a house fire have been announced.
Amy Beth Athey, 42, and her two children, Lydia Beth Athey, 9, and Rocco Hosanna Wharff, 17, died when a fire broke out at their home in Beaverton on December 18.
According to Amy's obituary from Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, she started the Beaverton Farmer's Market.
Lydia, who would have turned 10 on January 3, was a fourth grader at Beaverton Middle School, according to her obituary.
Athey's son, Rocco, was a senior at Beaverton High School.
Rocco's obituary said he was a real enthusiast of hunting & fishing and loved being outdoors.
A memorial service for the family has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 2.
It will be at 1 p.m., with a gathering starting at 11 a.m., at the Beaverton Church of the Nazarene.
