Gander Outdoors holds grand opening event in Traverse City
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- An outdoor sporting goods store is opening its doors once again - but this time under a new name!
Gander Outdoors, formerly known as Gander Mountain, in Traverse City is now open and will be holding a special grand opening event on Saturday, March 24.
The 34,000 square foot building is located on Market Place Circle and is one of eight Gander Outdoor stores in Michigan.
Gander Mountain filed for bankruptcy back in March of 2017.
In May of that same year, Marcus Lemonis, star of "The Profit" and now Chairman of Camping World Holdings, bought the company's assets in bankruptcy court.
“We look forward to seeing large crowds across the country as we continue the next phase of reopening Gander retail stores,” said Lemonis. “We are excited to continue expanding our outdoor industry footprint while supporting economic growth across the country.”
The grand opening event is scheduled to go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and experts on fishing, hunting, boating and more will be available to talk with customers.
