Grawn man arrested for shoplifting at Wal-Mart

A Grawn man was arrested in Grand Traverse County for shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Grawn man was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly stealing from the local Wal-Mart.

Around 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Wal-Mart about a man who allegedly stole several items and ran from the area.

According to deputies, the loss prevention officer confronted the suspect who said, "I'm not going jail," and ran toward Chili's.

Deputies were given a description of the suspect and found the man running toward the front door of Target.

Deputies went into Target, immediately found the man and arrested him.

The suspect was identified as a 26-year-old Grawn man.

Deputies said 1-2 grams of Marijuana was found on the man.

The man was arrested on charges of third-degree retail fraud, possession of marijuana and six outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

He told deputies he uses multiple illegal drugs and shoplifts so he can buy drugs.
