Group of veterans walk 92 miles to raise suicide awareness

(WPBN/WGTU)-- A group of veterans are walking 92 miles from Grand Rapids to Cadillac to raise awareness about veterans suicide and post traumatic stress disorder.

Bart Gramek and other veterans from across Michigan organized a walk called “No Veteran Left Behind – 92 for 22." The walk started on Thursday. The group has been walking along the White Pine Trail with stops mapped along the way.

The group is expected to reach Cadillac on Sunday afternoon between 4 and 5 p.m. If you would like to welcome the veterans, there will be a celebration at the Rotary Pavilion.

The group is raising money that will be donated to an organization called Help For Our Disabled Troops.

Help For Our Disabled Troops is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that adapts homes for injured Veterans as well as helping with therapeutic accommodations.
