CHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Cheboygan Habitat for Humanity has broken ground on two housing projects in Indian River.

The projects include two single family homes at 52-53 and 52-71 Will Drive.

The Cheboygan Branch has mainly focused on home repairs the last few years, but Wednesday night's groundbreaking kicks off their busiest year in the last decade.

"We’ve typically served one homeowner every three years through our home ownership program, and we’re going to have three this year," said Mandy Martin, the executive director of Cheboygan Habitat for Humanity.

"That’s huge for us, and we’re just grateful, excited, and slightly scared!" Martin said.

Martin said once the snow melts, they'll get to work on both of these projects.
