Harbor Springs Fire Department gets new ladder truck
EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Harbor Springs firefighters are loading up their brand new truck for service.
Fire Chief John Cupps said their old ladder truck needed work and decided to replace it a year early.
The old truck was from 1990 and the ladder was 75-feet tall. The new truck has a 108-foot ladder that will allow them better access to commercial structures.
The truck cost $900,000 which was partially paid for with local donations.
"Our upgrading has vastly improved our ability to service our community as well as our neighbors to the north and east of us," Chief Cupps said.
The new truck will go into service Thursday night after crews finishing loading it with equipment.
