Human remains found in burned vehicle in Upper Peninsula

Michigan State Police are trying to identify the human remains found in a burned vehicle.

MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Detectives are trying to identify human remains found in a burned car in Mackinac County.

Michigan State Police responded to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on East Simmons Road in Marquette Township around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Troopers said human remains were found in the vehicle once the fire out.

Dental records and/or DNA will be used to help identify the body, according to troopers.

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the fire and the cause of death.
