Hundreds come out for Leland 4th of July parade

People in Red, White and Blue lined the streets of Downtown Leland for the 4th of July parade Wednesday.

LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Hundreds of people in Red, White and Blue celebrated the nation's birthday in Leelanau County.

A couple dozens organizations put together floats or walked the streets for Leland's 4th of July parade Wednesday.

The parade route began on Lake Street and eventually turned north on M-22 to travel through Downtown Leland.

The 4th of July lasted a little over half an hour.

"It's kind of Americana. The little village and it's got all the little ships, and it been here forever," said Leland resident Jane Grishaw. "People just come and celebrate their great nation."

After the parade, attendees were invited to stay downtown for a concert at The Village Green.
