Hundreds expected to cross the Mackinac Bridge in second annual Jeep the Mac
STRAITS OF MACKINAC, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- The second annual Jeep the Mac is just a couple weeks away and now is the time to register for the event.
Last year was the first year for the event. More than 300 Jeeps crossed the Mackinac Bridge.
The Jeeps came in all shapes and sizes last year, including several that are over 50 years old.
This year's event will be held April 21-23.
To be eligible to participate:
- Only Jeeps™
- Jeep™ must be licensed and street legal.
- Tire size cannot exceed 40".
On April 21, drivers will gather for a Blessings of the Jeeps before crossing the bridge. The drivers will then line up to cross the bridge to head to Mackinaw City. They will then loop around to cross the bridge a second time and return to St. Ignace.
On April 22, participating drivers have the option to go to Turtle Ridge Off-Road Park on Drummond Island.

The registration deadline is Friday.
The $35 entry fee per person ($10 for child 10 years or younger) includes the Mackinac Bridge fare, shuttle service through St. Ignace Friday afternoon through Saturday, Drummond Island ferry fare and more.
