Jingle Bell Shoppe event helps Elk Rapids Backpack Program
ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A brewery in Williamsburg paired their craft brews with local businesses to help a special cause.
Townline Ciderworks hosted their Jingle Bell Shoppe event.
During the event local business owners sold their products before Christmas.
The event also helped shine a light on Elk Rapids Schools Backpack Program, which helps feed students in need by filling up backpacks with nutritious snacks for the weekend.
Townline Ciderworks says they work with this program often because it is special to them.
"I have always felt really strongly towards this program I think it's because we are fruit growers," said Kristie Altonen, Townline Ciderworks owner. "I didn't realize that there was such a need and just I thought of a child going without me something to eat for the weekend as heart wrenching and so it's very important for us to participate in programs like this to make sure that kids get the food that they need."
Townline Ciderworks is hosting a Throwback Christmas Party on December 22 from 7 to 10 p.m.
They plan to work with the Backpack Program for that event as well.
