Man accused of trying to strangle someone
MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Manistee man is in jail after deputies say he tried to strangle someone.
Manistee County Sheriff's deputies were called to Bridge Street in Manistee Township Friday.
After investigating, authorities got a warrant for 52-year-old Joseph Cowen.
Because there was concern he may be armed, the Northern Michigan Mutual Aid Emergency Response Team helped in serving the warrant.
Cowen was arrested at 10:15 p.m. the same day.
He was charged with assault by strangulation and domestic violence.
Cowen's bond was set at $30,000.
