Man arrested after hit and run in Cadillac

WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A northern Michigan man was arrested after police said he left the scene of an accident.

Cadillac Police discovered a vehicle in the middle of the intersection of North Mitchell Street and East Harris Street around 1:53 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators said the vehicle was hit by another vehicle, which then left the scene.

The driver, a 22-year-old Cadillac woman, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A short time later, officers received additional calls of a vehicle driving erratically in the area and striking a fence on West Garfield Street.

With the assistance of the Wexford County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police, investigators were able to arrest a 19-year-old Cadillac man.

Investigators said alcohol is believed to be involved.

The suspect's identity is being withheld pending arraignment.
