Man arrested for dragging woman by the hair, kicking her in the head

A man was arrested for allegedly dragging his girlfriend by the hair and kicking her in the head.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A man was arrested after deputies said he dragged a woman down a hotel hallway by her hair.

Around 4:15 a.m. Sunday a night supervisor at a hotel at 1401 US-31 in Grand Traverse County, The Parkshore Resort, heard yelling coming from the second-floor hallway and called 911.

Shortly after a woman came to the lobby with a fresh cut above her eye and asked the supervisor for a bandage, according to Grand Traverse County Sheriff's deputies.

Deputies reviewed the security video in the hallway and said it showed a man dragging the woman by her hair and kicking her in the head and torso.

The man ran from the area before police arrived deputies said.

Around 8:30 a.m. deputies found the suspect at his home in Paradise Township.

The 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail.

Officials said the victim was his 21-year-old girlfriend.

A report will be sent to the prosecutor's office for felony aggravated assault charges.
