Man arrested over accusations of racketeering and fraud
OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- A 70-year-old Otsego County man was arrested by the Gaylord Police Department Friday.
He was arrested due to allegations of computer, telephone, and other frauds that involved suspected international crime rings.
The arrest was made as part of a joint investigation with the Department of Homeland Security that started in 2017.
According to police, the suspect used local banks and shippers to give money and property to international co-conspirators.
The fraud victims are U.S. Citizens but police say they are not necessarily Michigan residents.
