Man arrested on arson charges in Traverse City
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Traverse City man was arrested on arson charges after a garage fire in June.
The investigation began after a neighbor reported flames at a detached garage at 720 Lake Street caught fire around 2 p.m. on June 4, according to Traverse City Police Officers.
The Michigan State Police Fire investigation unit was brought in to help and determined the fire was intentional.
A 52-year-old Traverse City man, who lives in the same neighborhood as the victim, was arrested Wednesday.
The warrant issued charges of third degree arson and habitual offender third offense.
The arson charge is a 10-year felony but the habitual offender charge could double the maximum sentence.
He is scheduled for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and his name will be released then.
