ALPENA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- An Alpena man suffered severe head injuries after being beaten by another man.
On February 13 around 11:30 p.m. Michigan State Police Troopers were called to an apartment complex in Alpena.
When troopers got to the home two men, who appeared to be highly intoxicated, were sitting calmly on the couch and a third man was found on the floor behind the couch.
The man on the floor was bloody, bruised, swollen and unable to recall what happened to him, troopers said.
Troopers said he also appeared intoxicated.
One of the men, 55-year-old Robert Jones of Alpena, was arrested and charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and aggravated assault.
The victim, a 45-year-old Alpena man, was taken to the hospital in Alpena and then transferred to a Midland hospital because of the severity of his head injuries.
Jones could face up to 10 years in prison if he's convicted.
