Man recovers from hypothermia after being rescued from Baldwin River
LAKE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A man was sent to the hospital after being rescued from the Baldwin River.
Lake County sheriff's deputies were called to the Baldwin River near an address off Grasshopper Lane around 8:23 p.m. Friday for a subject trapped in the water.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found a 52-year-old man trapped against a log jam in the river.
Investigators said the deputies threw the man a rope, but he was unable to hold onto it because he was suffering from hypothermia.
Deputies then entered the water and were able to free the man from the log jam and get him to shore, according to Lake County Sergeant Hurrle.
The man was taken to Reed City Hospital for hypothermia.
