GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A northern Michigan man will spend at least two years in prison after being caught on a security camera breaking into a business.
Derrick Holmquist, 46, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a building with intent and habitual offender third offense, according to Grand Traverse County court records.
He was sentenced Thursday to two to 10 years in prison and $167 in restitution.
Investigators said Holmquist was caught on a security camera breaking to a small business on Cass Road in August.
One of the victims said he received a notification from his Nest App on his smartphone that someone entered his business.
According to the victim, he could see Holmquist going through his business and taking cash out of his cash box.
