Massage therapist found not guilty of sex crime charges
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A verdict has been reached in the case against a northern Michigan massage therapist accused of sex crimes.
On Thursday, Jeffry Knapp was found not guilty of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Knapp was charged after a woman said he violated her during a massage at Loving Hand Massage and Spa in September 2018.
After further investigation, prosecutors said they found a similar accusation had been made by a different woman in 2005.
Records show Knapp was fired from Loving Hand and Spa but was able to keep his license.
