GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Northern Michigan businesses continue to get creative in an effort to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
Dreamlab Industries in Grand Traverse County has been 3D printing antimicrobial masks and now they've invented The Handy Touch.
The lightweight tool fits onto a keychain and allows people to open doors and press buttons without actually touching them.
The designers said its also touch screen friendly, which could come in handy at store checkout lanes.
"I started to think of other things you could use so you wouldn't have to touch things that other people are consistently touching," said RJ Pierson, an engineer at Dreamlab Industries. "So I came up with what we are calling 'The Handy Touch' and what this is for is you put it on your keychain and you're able to open doors with it and you can also push buttons like an elevator and on street lights and those sorts of things to help keep people safe."
The Handy Touch costs $6 and the 3D printed antimicrobial masks cost $10.
