Teen missing from juvenile center found during traffic stop

The Michigan State Police reported finding a missing teen during a traffic stop.

KALKASKA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A traffic stop in Kalkaska County led to the return of a missing teen to a juvenile center.

A Michigan State Police Trooper made a traffic stop in Kalkaska County for defective equipment on the vehicle and found the driver of the vehicle was also driving without insurance.

Further investigation found the 16-year-old passenger in the back had two missing person orders and had escaped from a juvenile facility in Missaukee County.

The teen was placed in a secure detention facility in Roscommon County.
