Missing woman's body found in weeds behind trailers
CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Sault Ste. Marie woman reported missing more than two weeks ago was found dead.
Police were called to War Memorial Hospital's parking lot Monday on the report that two people found a body. Officers located the victim in an overgrown area behind a couple of cargo trailers and it appeared the body had been at that location for quite some time.
Officials identified the victim as Erin Marie Stocker, 47. Stocker was reported missing by her mother on October 2 but hadn't been seen or heard from since September 28.
According to police, Stocker's body was found about a mile from where she lived.
The Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and determined the cause of death as natural causes.
