Michigan State Police are investigating a murder after receiving a tip from a person in custody.

According to First Special Lieutenant David Kaiser, troopers responding to a domestic violence call Wednesday in Hale spoke to a woman at the scene who turned out to have several outstanding arrest warrants.

While being taken into custody, the woman told troopers she thought it was ‘unfair’ that she was arrested “while someone else gets away with murder.”

She then told troopers of a murder scene on Snyder Trail in Plainfield Township.

Later that night, one of the troopers went to the location mentioned and found a crime scene with what appeared to be a shallow grave.

The MSP crime lab and a cadaver dog were dispatched to the site.

One man is in custody in connection with the crime.

This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call MSP.
