Munson debuts renovated space for outpatient heart services

Heart patients and cardiologists now have a new space for care in both Traverse City and Grayling.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday afternoon at Munson Medical Center's brand new Maxon Advanced Cardiac Care Clinic on Sixth Street.

The renovated facilities in both areas were paid for through the Maxon Foundation.

The practice already has more than 52,000 patient visits a year, but in Traverse City the space has now doubled so that physicians can care for even more people.

"With the support of the Maxon Foundtion and their $3 million gift we can not only open up a new clinic here in Traverse City but in Grayling as well," said Ed Ness, President of Munson Healthcare. "And that allows us to better serve our whole region. So I can't emphasize enough what an important day this is for our communities and really the improvement for the health of our communities."

Renovations at the Traverse City clinic included adding state of the art 3D ultrasound technology and more exam room space.
