GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A lot of smiling faces -- and for a good reason!

On Tuesday, the brand new Fine Arts Wing at the Children's House Montessori School in Traverse City was unveiled.

The new addition costs about $460,000 and includes practice rooms for the students, an art classroom, music room and pottery room.

The 1,500 square-foot wing and fine arts class rooms have been in the works since last fall.

During the ceremony, the project's donor, his daughter and fellow classmates cut the ribbon to official open the classrooms.

"They have really been jammed into tiny little areas for art and Music and we just thought it was an opportunity to help contribute to the community after all of these years and create a new facility for art and music because we think those are the things that help make all of the rest of the math and science and reading really work together in an even better way," said McKeel Hagerty, the donor of the Fine Arts Wing.
