NMC holds 13th Annual Mike McIntosh Memorial Classic Car & Truck Show
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- More than 100 classic cars made an appearance on Northwestern Michigan College's Aero Park Campus for the 13th Annual Mike McIntosh Memorial Classic Car & Truck Show over the weekend.
Mike McIntosh was an automotive instructor at the college and one of the founders of the campus' fire show in 2004.
In his honor, the car show is a fundraiser for the college's automotive school.
It also gives the students a chance to show off some of their projects.
“We call it a laid back show because the competition is very simple. The public gets to vote for the top 30 cars and we don’t designate classes," said Wayne Moody, the Autmotive Department Program Coordinator. "We don’t do judging. It’s just the top 30 favorite cars. People tend to enjoy that. They come in here and they hang out, have food and converse. It just seems like it’s less stress.”
During Saturday's event, there was a silent auction, which included items like a 1999 Ford F150 with a snow plow and a 2003 Honda Element.
