North American Snow Festival will go on, despite possible lack of snow
WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Despite the lack of snow on the ground, organizers say the North American Snow Festival (NASF) will go on.
The annual event takes place in Cadillac. This year its being held at the Wexford County Civic Arena, also known as “The Wex,” with events and activities from January 31st to February 2nd.
Some of those include a chili cook off, live bands, a bar with adult beverages, kid’s events and a fishing tournament.
“It is a local event but we do get a lot of-towners, of course we want snow, we want everyone to enjoy our beautiful area here, but even without snow the festival goes on, and the difference is, is the community going to support it,” said organizer, Shawn Dostal. “Usually the community comes out and supports it, we’re giving them something to do on a cold winter night without snow, you can’t snow mobile so what else are you going to do so we give them something fun to do.”
Organizers say there are also other events happening in the area.
