Northbound U.S. 131 closed as police apprehend suspect in Wyoming homicide case
Not long after the search began, police made a traffic stop on U.S. 131 near Wealthy Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and took into custody a suspect in a homicide investigation.
The suspect was considered armed and dangerous, but is now in custody.
A public warning had been issued through Silent Observer, that police were searching for Adam Kenneth Nolin, 33, in connection with the investigation of a death at the Creekside Estates Mobile Home Park in Wyoming. Some schools in the area were put on lock down as police searched or the suspect.
The notice said the suspect was driving a 1996 black Dodge pick-up truck with a broad red stripe on the sides and hood.
Witnesses said that the driver of the car police pulled over jumped out and ran near the S curve on U.S. 131 in Grand Rapids, and that a police SUV hit him and knocked him to the ground. He was taken from the scene by ambulance.
The highway remains shut down northbound as the investigation continues.
Several police agencies in the area are working with the Wyoming Police Department in the investigation.
