Northern Michigan AT&T customers experiencing landline issues

Some northern Michigan AT&T customers in northern Michigan may be experiencing issues when they try to use their landline pones.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- AT&T warns anyone in northern Michigan with a landline phone number starting with (231) 938 may have some issues dialing out.

According to Grand Traverse 911, the company said those phones are not able to call 911 and may have problems dialing out to other numbers as well.

Anyone having the issues is asked to use their cell phone, if you have one.

If you do not have a cell phone, and your (231) 938 phone will allow you to dial out, Grand Traverse 911 said to use their non-emergency number at (231) 922-4550 if you have an emergency.

At this time, there is no estimated restoration time.
