Northern Michigan fruit processing company closes
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Employees were sent home from work Friday when a northern Michigan fruit processing company closed.
Eric MacLeod, the general manager and president of Cherry Growers Inc said there is no work for employees and the company is closed until further notice.
The 79-year-old company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on August 31, 2017.
MacLeod said the company will continue required operations like wastewater and shipping out some product orders.
