EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- 25 lucky season pass holders now own a piece of Nub's Nob history.
The ski area in Emmet County is decommissioning its blue chair lift.
It was built in 1971 and it's too hard to find parts anymore.
The ski resort raffled off 25 of the 52 chairs on the lift to season pass holders.
Even though the chairs cost the winners $400 to purchase, more than 350 people put their names in the raffle.
Nub's Nob is donating 10 of the chairs to local charity auctions and keeping the rest.
"I think it shows that people aren't just interested in buying any chair lift but the blue chair lift and the history and the nostalgia that this lift represents," said General Manager Ben Doornbos. "This place is so special to so many people and they get ingrained in their memories."
If you missed out on the raffle, you can still get your blue lift nostalgia with t-shirts being sold through the ski resort.
