WPBN/WGTU — One man was arrested and another man was killed after a snowmobile crash in Gaylord.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on a trail behind Tractor Supply Company in Gaylord.
According to the Gaylord Police Department, officers found an unresponsive 38-year-old man from Gaylord. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say investigation officers determined that another man involved in the accident had fled the scene on foot.
Officers followed the footsteps in the snow and found the suspect hiding not too far from the crash.
Police say after completing the investigation, a 54-year-old man from Oakland was arrested for second degree operating while intoxicated causing death and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Police say a 40-year-old Gaylord man was also involved in the incident. The man is currently at McClaren hospital after having surgery from injuries sustained during the accident.
