One person killed in single-car crash in Leelanau County
LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- One person is dead after a single car crash in Leelanau County Tuesday afternoon.
A vehicle headed northbound on M-22 went into the other lane, hit an embankment, went airborne and crashed in a yard near a group of trees, Leelanau County Sheriff Mike Borkovich said.
The Dodge Durango narrowly missed another vehicle headed southbound, according to Borkovich
The two people in the vehicle were taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment where one person later died, according to Borkovich.
Witnesses told deputies the car didn't jerk but gradually veered into the other lane.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released once family if notified.
