Owner of loose dog that killed another dog pleads guilty
LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The owner of a pit bull that got loose last month and killed another dog pleaded guilty Wednesday.
Stephanie Rancour's pit bull mix got loose near the York Condominiums in Leelanau County in early July and attacked a poodle, according to Leelanau County Sheriff's Deputies.
Deputies said by the time the pit bull let up on the other dog it was dead.
The poodle was on a leashed walk with its 77-year-old owner at the time of the attack.
Rancour pleaded guilty to failure to purchase a dog license and the charge of trespassing in a damaging way was dismissed, according to court records.
Court records show she is required to pay fines and costs of nearly $2,000.
