Police ask to be alerted immediately of suspicious activity

Cadillac police are also reminding people to communicate with your children and always know where they are and who they are with.

WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The Cadillac Police are issuing a safety reminder to the community to always alert them of any suspicious activity before posting to social media sites.

While officers understand people wanting to let others know of certain situations, it is important to report concerns to police right away.

Notifying police immediately if you believe there is a dangerous situation, allows officers to investigate quickly and determine if a person means harm.

Police are also reminding people to communicate with your children and always know where they are and who they are with.

“We want them to travel in groups, two three people the more people you get the safer it may be and the more eyes on a situation, and know it’s okay to be rude to adult whether you have to yell scream, whatever the circumstance may be whatever it is to keep you safe,” said Officer Matt Schall, the school resource officer with Cadillac Police. “We’re not trying to scare anyone, we just want people to understand that there are bad people in this world and we don’t know what their intentions are, and we just want them to be cautious and aware of it so we can keep themselves safe, and other people around them safe as well.”

The Cadillac police say always side with caution when it comes to a possible danger, they would rather investigate and have it turn out to be nothing than get a call when it’s too late.
