Police: Charges dropped against Petoskey stabbing suspect

Charges against Justin Odle, the suspect in a Petoskey stabbing, have been dropped.

EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Charges against the suspect in a stabbing in Emmet County have been dropped and police have arrested the accuser.

Justin Odle, 28, was originally charged assault with intent to murder, false pretenses under $200 and habitual offender-fourth after a man accused Odle of stabbing him.

A 33-year-old Petoskey man said he was buying drugs from Odle and gave him money and Odle walked away without exchanging the drugs.

The 33-year-old alleged when he tried to stop Odle he turned about and stabbed the 33-year-old.

Petoskey Public Safety Officers continued investigated the claims and said they had concerns about the validity of the 33-year-old's claims.

Officers said they found the claims against Odle were fake and all charges against him were dropped.

The 33-year-old was arrested and charges of filing a false police report and lying to a police officer are being sought against him.
