Update: Missing girls found unharmed

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- UPDATE: Michigan State Police confirm both girls have been found unharmed.

Michigan State Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for two missing girls, ages 9 and 12.

Jenna Ypma, 9, and Alexis Ypma, 12, are believed to be with their father, Joel Ypma.

State Police say Joel never dropped his children off at school in Byron Center, and is possibly driving to northern Michigan.

They say is suffering from a mental episode. Joel's family says is showing signs of paranoia and believes he's being followed.

Joel is driving a black 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with Michigan registration BMK 5222.

He was last believed to be in the Mackinaw City area.

Alexis (12) has blonde hair, blue eyes, and is approximately 5’1.

Jenna (9) has blonde hair, blue eyes, and is approximately 4’8. Jenna has braces and is known to wear teal framed glasses.
