BENZIE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Most of us have heard of Little Free Libraries - those little boxes you see around your community where you can give and take a book for free.
But what about a Little Free Art Gallery?
The Oliver Art Center in Frankfort is in the process of setting up the new boxes in town where you can give and take art for free.
The galleries will be outside of Century 21 Northland, Benzie Shores District Library, and Oliver Art Center starting May 1.
Along with the Little Free Art Gallery, staff at Oliver Art Center has also been busy setting up another art exhibit.
The Annual Regional Student Exhibit showcases artwork from students in the area ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade.
"It gives them a chance to celebrate," Oliver Art Center Executive Director Mercedes Michalowski said. "Looking around at the work, you can really see their feelings and their emotions poured into their work with everything they've been going through."
The exhibit is a juried art show, and this year, Olivet College is offering scholarships to the students who win an award of excellence for their art.
