LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A popular bayside restaurant in Traverse City is now under new ownership.
Jeff Lobdell sealed the deal on Apache Trout Grill on Wednesday. It was previously owned by Mike and Sheila Connors for 24-years.
The former owners want to thank the community for their support of the years and said,
We’ve made so many great friends and will cherish the wonderful memories we’ve made. We’ve made the decision to move on to the next phase in our lives. It was extremely important to us that we find a quality operator to continue the legacy of Apache Trout Grill and Jeff, a Traverse City native, and his entire team were the perfect fit. The Lobdell family has an impeccable reputation and history of excellent operations. I’m confident the business will be in good hands.
Jeff Lobdell owns multiple restaurants in Grand Rapids, as well as Boone’s Prime Time Pub in Suttons Bay, Flap Jack Shack in Traverse City, and two Omelette Shoppe locations in Traverse City.
In total, Lobdell’s companies are comprised of 11 brands (now 12) and 21 locations throughout West Michigan and the greater Traverse City area, employing over 850 people.
Lobdell is a former Chairman of the Board for the Michigan Restaurant Association (MRA), and currently serves as a director with the National Restaurant Association.
The Traverse City native says Apache Trout Grill has always been one of his favorite restaurants, and he looks forward to carrying on their tradition of offering award winning dining experiences to the Grand Traverse area.
My role is to be the caretaker of the Apache Trout Grill so it can continue to serve its role as a cherished waterfront, community gathering place,
As of right now Lobdell says he has no plans to make any major changes to Apache Trout Grill.
