Popular restaurant closing its doors after 37 years of business
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) -- It's true, after 37 years of business, the Taco House in Traverse City will be closing its doors at the end of the year.
The owner, John Coscarelli, posted on the Taco House Facebook page on Sunday.
Several months ago the owner decided to get out of the business and approached the Taco House neighbor, Bill Marsh Automotive Group on South Garfield Avenue.
The dealership already owns part of the land behind Taco House, so when Coscarelli approached them about buying the Taco House property, they agreed.
Owner of Bill Marsh, Jamie Marsh, says although they look forward to the extra lot space next year, they too will miss the Taco House.
"We're just as disappointed as everybody else about the Taco House not being there anymore," says Marsh. "We're big fans and big customers of the Taco House and have been since the early 80's."
The Taco House is expected to stay open through the end of the year, and the property transition will take place in early 2019.
