Man arrested, charged in deadly GT County crash has other recent arrests
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- The man arrested after a deadly Grand Traverse County crash has been charged.
Investigators said Michael Greenshields, 20 of Maple City, was driving a car when it crashed on Silver Lake Road on Friday.
According to records, a sheriff's deputy witnessed Greenshields' car traveling at a high rate of speed on US-31 South near Sundowner Drive in Garfield Township before the driver tried to evade police by traveling on McRae Hill Road, Silver Pines and East Silver Lake Road.
Sheriff's deputies said four people were inside the car at the time of the crash.
A 20-year-old female passenger from Kingsley and a 16-year-old male from Traverse City were both taken to Munson Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Anthony Case, 20 of Maple City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Greenshields was also sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Monday, Greenshields was charged with operating while impaired causing death and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle first degree.
According to court records, Greenshields was recently arrested for operating/minor with high blood alcohol content.
He was arraigned on that charge on October 25.
Records also show that he was formally charged with home invasion first degree on Tuesday.
Greenshields is currently being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
