Red Cross asking for blood donations to help with hurricane relief
NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) -- The American Red Cross is urging people to donate blood after hundreds of donation drives were canceled due to Hurricane Florence.
There is a critical need for blood and platelets after more than 200 blood drives had to be canceled because of the hurricane.
There are multiple Red Cross blood drives in northern Michigan in the coming weeks.
There two opportunities to donate in Gaylord, the first on Monday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 515 S. Wisconsin Avnue.
The second on Thursday, October 4 from 9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral School, 321 North Otsego Avenue.
Tuesday, September 25 from noon to 5:45 p.m. at Fairview Mennonite Church, 1583 N. Abbe Road in Fairview.
Friday, September 28 from noon to 5:45 p.m. at Leelanau Studios at 10781 East Cherry Bend Road in Leelanau County.
